Module Aims

The aim of this module is to:

• Recognise the learning needs of children and young people age 0-18 years.
• Examine curricula nationally and internationally, and critically evaluate their effectiveness on learning for children and young people.
Reflect on the effectiveness of a range of theories, philosophies and approaches on curricula.

Content Summary

This module will assess a range of curricula, including both those used internationally and in the home nation, and their impact on children and young people’s learning. A range of principles, philosophies and different approaches will be analysed considering the type of learning environments they create. Assessment of and assessment for learning will be evaluated in relation to the curricula.
