Module Aims

This module aims to encourage students to develop expert knowledge in a health related area by carrying out an extended research project. Students will be tasked with identifying a valid research question, designing a methodology appropriate for the topic, analysing research data and drawing conclusions. In doing so, this module aims to enhance students’ research skills; develop project management skills; encourage advanced analytical and problem solving skills; enhance report writing skills; and promote goal directed independent learning.

Quantitative and Qualitative research methods

Types of research: primary, secondary, empirical, experimental

Carrying out secondary data analysis and meta-analysis

Data analysis for both quantitative and qualitative research designs
