Module Aims

To enable students to reflect upon and critically analyse aspects of their work based related learning in the context of addressing the UK- Standard Engineering Competence (UK-Spec) for a Chartered Engineer.

Content Summary

The student must critically assess work related projects in which they have participated. They must reflect upon the role they have played in the completion of the project and how this has enhanced their development as an engineer. The student must consider the strategic implications of the work they have undertaken in the context of their employment and the wider community. The UK-Spec outlines a series of competencies expected of professional engineers and these are used by professional bodies as a route to membership and Chartered Engineer status. The student should consider, from their analysis how their development meets the criteria set out in the UK-Spec.
