1. To critically evaluate ideas underpinning the partnership approach to crime and disorder reduction.

2. To critically evaluate the effectiveness of the partnership strategy.

3. To critically evaluate the role of strategic planning in the delivery of partnership working.

Content Summary

Why the partnerships approach? History of partnerships including case studies of good and bad practice.
What does partnership mean in practice? A critical appraisal of strategic partnership policy and its impact.
The structure of partnerships including a critical appraisal of case study partnership structures.
Problems associated with partnership working including data exchange, workplace agendas, and organisational outcomes.
Converting policy into practice
Defining strategic planning.
Planning for the future including a critical appraisal of the PESTLE environment scanning approach to strategic planning. Application to particular policy impact using the SWOT analysis to policy
Organisational culture and its impact upon strategy- critical and reflective appraisal of one owns organisation.
Ethical decision making in partnerships at a strategic level. Understanding the ethical approach as underlying the route to professional workplace activity.
