Module Aims

To develop the students' knowledge of performance Analysis as a tool within the coaching process

To develop an understanding of measurement issues and information processing aspects of performance analysis

To develop the students’ practical skills in order for them to design, test and utilise a computerised notation system

Content Summary

Module content will address the fundamentals of Performance Analysis and include;

• Performance indicators in performance analysis
• Subjective and objective analysis of sports performance data
• Purposes and applications of performance analysis of sport
• Developing a computerised performance analysis system
• Measurement issues in performance analysis and reliability evaluation
• Research issues in performance analysis.
• The use of feedback in sport
