To enable students to develop asystematic knowledge and critical understanding of arange of topics and issues inHealth Psychology and to understand themain approaches toresearchinHealth Psychology.

Content Summary

The module will focus on theinteraction of psychological, behavioural, physiological and social factorsinhealth and illness. Models and theoretical perspectives inhealth and illness.Riskfactors and disease, preventativehealth,aswellasstress and psychoimmunology. The module willalso consider therole of psychology in medicine and medical settings.Finally, consideration will be given tohealth issues relatedtoparticular stages of the lifespan.
