To develop analytical skills and ability to reflectively critique practice in relation to current research and theory.

Content Summary

This module focuses on the understanding of processes of systemic circularity, rigorous critique and reflective creativity. Students will have the opportunity through pre and post therapy session feedback to assess their own abilities to relate theory to practice and to engage clients/patients usefully in therapy. They will develop the ability to integrate their theoretical understanding, new ideas methods and techniques into their clinical practice.

Understanding theoretical and research contexts relevant to psychotherapy is a major theme within this module. Students will seek research findings relevant to the particular cases with which they are working.
