Module Aims

To be able to use the advanced features of the selected database application\\r

The module will provide specialist work based learning and up-skilling through the DEHOV project as part of the UHOVI (Universities Heads of the Valleys Institute) agenda.\\r

Content Summary

To understand key concepts of database design (ERM/Class diagrams) and development and use a relational database application to create an advanced database structure and outputs:\\r

Create a relational database using advanced table creation features with complex relationships between tables. \\r

Design and use queries, create tables, update, delete and append data. Refine queries using wildcards, parameters and calculations. \\r

Use controls and sub-forms to enhance forms and improve functionality. \\r

Create report controls to perform calculations. Create sub-reports and enhance report presentation. \\r

Enhance productivity by working with macros and use linking and importing features to integrate data. \\r

Practical or simulated implementation of the selected database package in the workplace. \\r
