Module Aims

The aim of this module is:-

Further enhance students’ understanding of coaching principles and skills, and demonstrate the ability to transmit them to an elite performance coaching setting.

Enable students as coaches to recognise how psychological, physical, technical and tactical elements can impact elite performance coaching.

Develop the ability for students to employ periodisation, performer profiles and apply tactical strategies.

Content Summary

The module will seek to critically analyse the key components of elite sports performance including:-

Design and implementation of multidisciplinary interventions

Performance Profiling

Contemporary Issues in high-performance coaching

Management of groups and individuals

Understanding and application of advanced tactical systems
