Module Aims

Make connections between experiential knowledge, including work-based and academic knowledge.

Content Summary

Time management: Learning contracts, reflective learning logs.

Research Techniques: Textbooks, academic journals, media, internet, scientific, academic referencing and plagiarism.

Assignment writing skills: Writing in an academic style (e.g. synopsis, introduction, discussion, conclusion);
Understanding questions (e.g. evaluation, compare & contrast, discussion, interpretation, critical analysis, recommendations); Working collaboratively in a group

Presentation skills: IT skills (e.g. PowerPoint, prezi.com, Keynote), public speaking, appropriate content
and layout.
