Module Aims

This unit provides an introduction to the role of the garden designer, the basic principles of design. By studying examples of work by professional designers learners will be encouraged to develop their powers of observation and thereby increase their skills in garden design and graphics.

To provide the student with an understanding of the impact design has on garden maintenance;

To enable the student to develop an appreciation of the principles and elements of design;

To develop an understanding of an integrated approach to landscape design from inception to completion.
