Module Aims

The aim of the module is to consolidate and extend the learning achieved since qualifying as a registered social workerin order to meet the learning outcomes as prescribed by Social Care Wales for Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs).

Content Summary

The consolidation module is for all newly qualified Social Workers who are in their first period of registration and forms the first step within the CPEL framework. The module will build on the learning undertaken within the qualifying programme. It will focus on embedding their core professional knowledge and skills within practice. The consolidation module focuses on three key areas namely applying analysis in assessment to inform interventions, working collaboratively with service users, carers and other professionals and intervention and application of professional judgement in increasingly complex situations.
