Module Aims
Broaden and deepen students’ understanding of approaches to research appropriate to their practice situation and subject of study.
Develop skills in critical and analytical thinking, utilising the students’ knowledge and skills through application in the practice situation
Develop an ethical & professional approach to critical reflective practice and research projects
Content Summary
Drawing up research project proposals
Evaluation of a range of research methods including action research, surveys, interviews, focus groups
Critical Reflective Practice approaches and techniques, within research activity
Critique and analysis and evaluation of projects and methods
Analysis and critique of policies, reports and official documents related to the area of study
Qualitative research methods such as thematic and IPA
Reviewing relevant literature
Writing research project reports
Making an effective argument
Ethical and risk considerations
Using appropriate software for compilation, analysis and presentation of data.
