Module Aims

The overall aim of this module is to enable the learner to engage in reflection of their learning through their work experience. The module will provide an opportunity for students to develop reflective practice that can be used to enhance the effectiveness of their work-related experience. Students will be provided with the opportunity to conduct their work-related experience within a number of key vocational areas related to the sports sector. The intention of the module is to provide students with the opportunity to develop the vocational skills of practical delivery required of individuals within the sports sector.

Content Summary

The learning experience will be reflected upon in relation to the context of the workplace and the expected work-related practice at a level appropriate to the learner.

A programme of work-based learning for the student will be agreed with a work-based mentor and roles and responsibilities will be outlined prior to the placement commencing.

This module will facilitate the development of Personal Development Planning (PDP) through the delivery of the key skills identified in the module descriptor. In addition, the module will allow students to reflect on relevant vocational skills that are required to conduct specific roles and responsibilities within the sport sector.

The content of this module will enable a student to develop those vocational skills associated with being a competent practitioner and that will allow the student to reflect on their ability to deliver practically within their chosen area.
