To examine and analyse a wide range of laws relating to the UK Construction Industry and the Built Environment
To appreciate the roles, legal responsibilities and inter-relationships of all stakeholders working in the UK Construction Industry and Built Environment
Content Summary
The purpose of this module is to enable students to appreciate the wide range of laws applicable to the UK construction industry and the built environment.
This module places emphasis on the legal responsibilities of stakeholders in construction and the built environment in the context of both civil and criminal liabilities.
The module covers key themes including contractual obligations, health and safety and environmental sustainability and seeks to underpin the legal aspects of all the modules taught in Built Environment.
Students will also be introduced to Ethics, Codes of Practice and Professional Standards.
