Module Aims

To provide students with a practical understanding of entrepreneurship, the business start-up process and enable potential entrepreneurs to identify key components of a successful business start-up process.

Content Summary

In this module the students will:

Examine the disciplines of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. Establish the importance of entrepreneurial activity.
Explore the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs and determine distinct personality traits common to these individuals.
Determine the level of their personal entrepreneurial traits and associated skills required in starting a new enterprise or in the engagement of intrapreneurial activity within the workplace.
Develop a business idea and produce a start-up business plan.
Explore the challenges in starting up an enterprise and determine a suitable business model for the venture.
