Module Aims

To broaden and deepen students’ understanding of approaches to research appropriate to their work situation and subject of study.

 

Develop skills in critical and analytical thinking, and a professional approach to project planning and management

Content Summary

This module brings together the skills learned at level four in relation to work based projects and research and provides the students with the skills and knowledge need to undertake a larger scale work related project. It also acts as preparation for students who are considering progressing to a top up year by laying the foundations for the longer dissertation or project that is required at level six.

# Learning Outcome
LO1 Produce a detailed project proposal for a work place or entrepreneurial research project demonstrating an understanding of the ability to select, review, analyse and critique relevant literature, and time management.
LO2 Undertake a research project within a workplace or community setting using relevant IT packages where applicable. Appraise the information gathered and formulate a coherent evaluation for a specified audience.
