To further explore the concept of wellbeing.

Understand how learner voice can impact on wellbeing.

To examine current policy and practice in supporting wellbeing and learner voice.

 

Content Summary

The importance of a child’s rights as an individual.

Role of the Children’s Commissioner – monitoring children’s rights

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The current legal framework in UK and Wales in relation to the rights of the child

Participation, provision and protection rights – 3P’s

Developing children’s participation and promoting the learner voice (including pre-linguistic stage and ALN)

Current policies and initiatives aimed at promoting health and wellbeing in childhood and adolescence.
