Module Aims
This module aims to:
Further develop students understanding of the concepts and practices of interactive transmedia storytelling by introducing them to critical and theoretical perspectives regarding audience engagement with, and reception of, ‘interactives’.
Equip students with strategies and skills for implementing a transmedia/multiplatform approach to their own creative practice.
Content Summary
This module will introduce students to strategies for interpreting, adapting and developing fictional and factual narratives for audience interaction.
The students will be introduced to various examples of good practice to inspire their creative work and reflection.
The students will work together in skill appropriate teams, relevant to the range of media to be incorporated in the planning, research, media generation and construction of their interactive narrative productions. Each individual’s involvement will be recorded in an online portfolio, to be referenced during a reflective evaluation.
This module will also support your development as a sustainable practitioner via engagement with Albert Sustainable Production Certification. Discussions and tasks will equip you with a demonstrable general understanding of the science of climate change and its impacts. You’ll have the opportunity to identify and articulate the environmental impacts of a production, making reference to a calculated carbon footprint; and you’ll propose solutions to reduce the environmental impact of a production. You’ll also identify strategies that could engage audiences with environmental sustainability.
