Module Aims

To ensure each student has identified their responsibilities as a professional practitioner and put into practice the necessary level of research and development of business contacts that will enable the transition from education into the professional market place. Focus will be on:

Improving communication and presentation skills.Assessing the importance of networking and how to formulate relevant contacts.Creating and managing an achievable financial foundation to support a chosen career goal.

Content Summary

Students will prepare, through lecture-seminars, supervision and guided tasks, the following areas:

A Critical Path Analysis (CPA) that focuses on realistic and achievable goals.

A relevant financial and budgetary plan to support an initial establishment of the chosen career pathway

An analysis of previous academic and/or practical experiences during the BA course that will provide a foundation for the professional world.

An exhaustive portfolio of relevant contacts and openings in their chosen area of the music industry.

A comprehensive CV and overview of self-employment requirements.
