Module Aims

To support students in developing a critical understanding of theory and practice relating to working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.

To use investigative procedures to explore cases of diversity and to reflect on their relevance and application to own work contexts.

To support students in developing their use of critical analysis to identify various dominant discourses of culture and their underpinning ideology.

To provide practitioners with the opportunity to undertake systematic reflection on their values and professional practice in order to understand beliefs about the self and other and develop inter-cultural awareness.

To support students in developing an understanding of partnership working with families and multi-agency collaboration
