Module Aims

The module establishes the theoretical framework for clinical work, while ensuring that the integration of theory and practice are central to the curriculum. Theory is explored through the study of psychodynamic and psychotherapeutic approaches. The module encourages reflection upon the clients’ psychological, environmental and social situations as these evolve, emphasising the cultural contexts in which the work takes place, while supporting and developing autonomous and reflective thinking.

The first clinical experience takes place through this module to enable the development of integration of theory into practice.
