Module Aims

• To develop an understanding of how CYP learn and the factors that can influence effective learning.
• Explain the development of CYP and how this relates to learning (Link to current documentation).
• Explain appropriate conditions for effective learning
• Explore potential barriers to learning
• Encourage learners to develop expertise in integrating learning strategies into learning situations.
• Promote equality of opportunity.
• Reflect upon practice to develop learners’ ability to provide effective support using various strategies appropriate to individual setting.

• Approaches and perspectives of current theoretical concepts regarding learning processes - evidence relevant learning theories and strategies.
• Current literature on pedagogical theory and how this can link to learners’ own professional practice.
• Current research, policies and educational frameworks relevant to learning environments including those beyond Wales and the UK.
• How personal, social and emotional factors can affect learning and development of CYP.
• Aspects of equality of opportunity and inclusive learning relevant to theory and practice of managing learning
• Developing, sustaining and challenging CYP engagement, motivation, achievement and attainment through differentiation - MAT
