Module Aims

To provide an opportunity for students to:
• Explore the nature and significance of mental health problems and their social, behavioural and educational implications as barriers to learning
• Investigate practitioner responses to mental health issues and of professional support within their placement
• Identify sources of professional support and multi-professional working.

Content Summary

Conditions, including: schizophrenia, depression, stress, anxiety, eating disorders, social phobias, bipolar disorders, trauma, hyperactivity, self-harming, substance misuse and how they affect learning.
