Module Aims

• To allow students to relate university experiences to the world of work and enterprise.

• To develop competence in analysis and evaluation of workplace problems, using academic theories and concepts.

• To develop students’ ability to learn from reflection

• To provide students with the opportunity to appraise sustainable practices in hospitality operations.

Content Summary

The work placement will be spread throughout the academic year. It will include a range of activities including work shadowing and supervising a small team. A minimum requirement will be that the student will be able to carry out functional aspects of the job and be able to observe the internal operation of the organisation. The student will be expected to apply academic theories and concepts.
