Module Aims
Enable students to learn and develop managerial and leadership skills in a working environment.
To specialise in one area of hospitality sector by developing deeper understanding of the nature of product / service, challenges and opportunities.
Content Summary
The work based learning enhances performance by the effective integration of theory and practice. In order for this to take place, the following is undertaken by the student:
Identification of the workplace context: researching the firm, its aims, culture, policy and management structure.
Analysis of the commercial/industrial structure within which the firm operates in general but with specific attention to its international position.
Demonstration of understanding and relevance of the theoretical concepts to commercial practice to improve firm and personal performance.
Appraise the application of sustainable business practices within the specific context of area of specialism.
