Module Aims

To develop an understanding of the fundamental construction project production elements together with the structure and purpose of site organisation.

To understand the process and principles of resource selection for a construction project.

To provide an introduction to the surveying techniques employed to allow vertical and horizontal control during construction projects.

Content Summary

Site investigation, ground improvement, shallow foundations, construction plant and differing site types.

Levelling and vertical control.

Angle and distance measurement and horizontal control.
