Module Aims

Develop strong story telling skills through research, writing, photography, capturing and editing video.
Understanding of publishing to content management systems and analytics and their place in the mobile broadcasting world.

Content Summary

Acquiring the skills sports journalists need to demonstrate competence in identifying and realising media-rich opportunities for digital story-telling - by originating ideas, gathering component material, and producing appropriate multi-media artefacts for online dissemination.

Students will also acquire the knowledge to reflect on such practical work with regard to industry practice and debates about it and understand the personal-professional interface in social media production.

Ethical considerations around identification, accuracy, fairness, and objectivity as well as debates around bias, objectivity and favouritism will be addressed within this module.
