Module Aims

This Independent study module, available for inclusion on all courses at Level 5 in the School of Engineering, is designed to provide the opportunity for students to work independently on a topic centered on their designated course.

Content Summary

The module will be in the form of either:
• directed reading and research
• management
• practice
• design
• analysis
or a combination of these areas on a topic chosen by the student in consultation with a designated member of academic staff (Mentor). The topic must also be agreed by the module leader. The student will be required to submit an acceptable formal proposal in accordance with guidelines established with his/her intended mentor and subsequently complete a project report.
