Module Aims

The aim of this module is to gain basic knowledge and understanding about sports science in relation to football and to identify how its application may aid the coach in developing athletes to achieve improved sporting performance. This module aims to ensure that coaches of children fully understand the different scientific needs of this population.

Content Summary

Within this module the student can expect to study the following areas: Cardio-respiratory and Skeletal Muscle systems; Sports training principles and physiological adaptations; Biomechanics Principles; Psychological areas of performance; Nutrition for the performer; Issue related to sports Injuries.
