Module Aims
The module aims to immerse students in the role of performance football coaching and build upon their understanding of the demands placed upon the modern-day football coach. In remaining true to academic standards this module draws from a wide theoretical base, suitable for level 6 study and actively challenges students to deliver well-informed football practices and programs. The concept of the module is in line with the demands of industry in aiming to develop students who are theoretically aware but are also practically applied.
Content Summary
Underpinning principles of performance football coaching including:
- The football employment landscape and associated demands
- Technical and tactical adaptations and associated player/coach learning
- The application of contemporary and integrated coaching concepts
- Advanced intervention strategies
This module will facilitate the development of Personal Development Planning (PDP) through the delivery of the key skills identified in the module descriptor.
