Module Aims

The module aims to further enhance student knowledge of the various aspects of community-related football coaching and the demands placed upon the modern-day football coach. In remaining true to academic standards this module draws from a wide theoretical base, suitable for level 6 study and actively challenges students to deliver well-informed football practices. The concept of the module is in line with the demands of industry in aiming to develop students who are theoretically aware, but are also practically applied.

Content Summary

Underpinning principles of community football development coaching including:

- The community football development employment landscape and associated demands

- The football learning environment

- Technical, tactical, physical, social and psychological adaptations and associated player/coach learning

- Contemporary coaching styles, ideas and approaches

This module will facilitate the development of Personal Development Planning (PDP) through the delivery of the key skills identified in the module descriptor.
