Module Aims

To apply advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the oesophagus

Content Summary

This module aims to develop an understanding of oesophageal disorders. The students would first learn about oesophageal anatomy and physiology. This would assist in their understanding of the various diagnostic tests used to diagnose confirm oesophageal disorders. A wide variety of disorders seen in a busy practice are covered in the module, including oesophagitis and Barrett’s Oesophagus, vomiting, oesophageal dysmotility and Oesophageal cancer.
