Module Aims

1. To encourage participation and understanding of the ‘how to coach’ skills related to association football at foundation phase level (5-12years).

2. The FAW C Certificate course that is integrated within this module aims to develop students ‘how to coach’ skills as well as improve their ‘what to coach’ technical skills.

Content Summary

The module will focus on the long-term player development model and teach aspects of physiological, psychosocial, technical, and tactical specifics of the foundation phase.

Students will learn how various coaching styles are applied to the foundation phase and will apply these principles in their coaching practice.

The module will introduce students to the numerous technical and tactical issues that include technical drills, skill practices, and games for understanding suitable for young performers between the ages of 5 and 12.
