Module Aims

To provide opportunities to obtain sector specific work related experience and/or work related transferable employability skills linked to theory and research covered in other course modules.

To provide opportunities to address and reflect on some of the ethical and practical issues associated with their work-related experience and/or work related transferable employability skills.

Content Summary

Topics covered in the module will follow through the employability journey from job searching to preparing competency based applications and a CV, managing social media presence, preparing for interviews and their outcomes, networking professionally, and preparing for alternative recruitments scenarios – role play, assessment centres, psychometric testing.

Key skills will be developed throughout this module, including:

Interpersonal skills

Strategies for time and self-management

Risk assessments & health and safety in the workplace

Managing relationships in the workplace

Diversity in the workplace

Professional and ethical codes of practice and behaviour

Reflective practise
