Module Aims

To provide students with the opportunity to identify a research topic, design a research study to investigate the topic, carry out the study, analyse the data and report their findings.

Content Summary

This module will involve students completing an independent piece of practical research on a topic in childhood and adolescent development. There will be some whole-class teaching sessions at the start of the year, focussing on issues such as compiling literature reviews, selecting an appropriate research method, and identifying and addressing ethical issues when conducting the research. Students will be provided with individual supervision while conducting their research.
