To provide an advanced examination of different therapeutic approaches

To foster critical evaluation of approaches to different therapeutic interventions

Content Summary

This module will provide an advanced and conceptual evaluation of some of the issues related to working therapeutically with children and young people, including professional and ethical issues; Critical analysis of the theoretical and empirical knowledge of psychopathology in the context of children and young people; Critically evaluating approaches to the assessment and diagnosis of psychopathology; A higher level of critical overview of different childhood disorders. The critical evaluation of current principles of different therapeutic approaches and how they are applied in practice (e.g., behaviour analysis, creative therapies including play therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy).
