Module Aims

To encourage critical reflection on theoretical and research perspectives underpinning educational and occupational Psychology

Content Summary

The specific content will vary from year-to-year depending on staff research interests, but topics related to educational Psychology may include areas such as practical methods and techniques adopted by teachers to promote academic achievement, individual differences in intelligence, cognitive development, affect, motivation, self-regulation and self-concept, as well as their role in learning. Topics related to occupational Psychology may include areas such as modern ways of working (i.e., teleworking) and its effects on employee health and well-being, occupational stress and its management, personnel selection and assessment, employee relations and motivation, organisational development and change, performance appraisal and career development.
