Module Aims

To foster a critical appreciation of the philosophy of critical reflective practice.

Content Summary

The module will continue with the triangulate theme of Evidence-based Principles; Ethical Values and Critical Reflective Capability that has been built in the Level 4 and 5 modules.

The module will provide students with a detailed critical appreciation of therapeutic practice and will achieve this by embedding links to research in counselling and psychotherapy. The understanding and reflective practice fostered in this module will be highly relevant across a broad range of practitioner roles and students will have the opportunity to appraise reflective practice in different health, social care and well-being domains.
