Module Aims

To build students appreciation of the practical application of a range of different management approaches with Developmental Disorders used within practice

To build upon student’s own practical skills to contribute towards their professional development and enhance employability

Content Summary

This module will be focussed on equipping students with a thorough appraisal of how different models and approaches can be applied in practice when supporting individuals with Developmental Disorders. They will have the opportunity to build on their observation and reflective skills and widen their knowledge of positive communication skills, problem solving and evaluation of practice. As part of the module they will continue to complete a range of applied learning tasks in readiness for employment. In addition, students will have an opportunity to see how the needs of individuals with Developmental Disorders are addressed in professional settings, with the content of the module focused on real world application, utilising methods such as problem based learning.

This module includes formative assessment activities, to support students learning and development prior to summative assessment tasks.
