Module Aims

The module aims to develop students analytical, critical and communication skills through written and oral based presentations that reflect, review and evaluate a relative topic.

The module will encourage students to explore illustration in context and develop their research methodologies to broaden their understanding of critical and cultural debate.

Content Summary

This module allows students to investigate and explore the work of contemporary or historical illustrators in practice, or relative movements that have impacted upon the evolution of 21st century illustration in practice.

Through workshops, lecturers, seminars and tutorial based support students will obtain key skills to identify areas for exploration and analytical critique.

The module will develop student’s knowledge of research methodologies, informing the evaluation and the demonstration of their findings through practice and presentations.

The module will encourage students to connect with local and remote resources. The assessment tasks allow students to practice primary and secondary forms of research methodologies to deepen their understanding of (chosen or given) topics that informs and develops their own professional practice and application.
