Module Aims

To expand and experiment with students’ pre-existing knowledge, skills and understanding of relevant art theory and practice.

To apply models of practice from participatory art forms.

To further develop students’ creative identities, confidence and competence in their artistic ability through the creation and presentation of art work.

To strengthen students’ fluency in critiquing the work of their peers and other practitioners.

To encourage reflective thinking and analysis in responding to information provided and researched.

Content Summary

1) Introduction to the Year 2 Art Pathway Module content and assessment strategy

2) Themed overarching projects including professionally relevant external briefs where appropriate.

3) Individual art practice development through studio practice and the creation of art work.

4) Development of ideas in the context of participatory art forms and arts in health environments.

5) Modelling workshop facilitation through practical sessions.

6) Group discussion and critique.

7) Examination of art work and key artistic concepts to develop critical and analytical thinking, expression and vocabulary.

8) Written work strategies and preparation.
