Module Aims

To develop further and refine students’ pre-existing knowledge, skills and understanding of relevant art theory and practice.

To develop students’ identity both creatively and professionally through public exhibition.

To develop students’ confidence and competence in their artistic ability.

To strengthen students’ ability to critique creative work constructively.

To create within an inclusive and accessible context.

Content Summary

Introduction to the Year 3 Art Module content and assessment strategy.

Individual art practice development through studio practice and the creation of art work.

Knowledge of key artistic concepts/theory/movements/genre as are relevant to practice.

Creative exchange – the examination of artwork and of critical and analytical thinking, expression and vocabulary.

Experience of professional, contemporary practice e.g. gallery visits.

Inclusive and accessible creative practice.
