Module Aims
Through a further series of assignments, this module continues the refinement of the motion graphics design process to a more advanced level. This module will further explore the foundations of motion graphics. Design for screen, effective use of typography, graphical elements, HD video, and motion are all covered in order to produce animation and digital video product. Emphasis as before is on individual learning, and by increasing the opportunities to initiate and negotiate their own assignments, this module will ensure that students are fully involved and committed to their own learning. Technical and craft skills are further developed through active participation in solving specific design problems and the need to communicate ideas through skilled manipulation of various processes and software skills.
Content Summary
Through projects, lectures, discussions and demonstrations, the students will obtain a comprehensive further understanding of the conceptual, technical, and aesthetic issues of HD digital video planning, production and postproduction. Projects will further expose students to specific elements of dslr cinematography, colour grading, typography, composition, etc, and the strategic use of design elements that contribute to the communication of meaning in time-based visual communication environments.
