Module Aims

Allow students to exhibit a mature approach and a personal stance as a Motion designer, demonstrating a defensible level of understanding of the relationship between design for various media and the legal and design context within which it occurs.

Enable students to undertake detailed studies of, its technologies and production processes, and be responsible for their own time management.

Closely link aesthetic and technical aspects of design with practical and affordable methods of production and sensitive use of processes and materials including user focussed design and accessibility.

Content Summary

Research methodologies - Identifying the wider perspective of a problem and initiating relevant research to achieve desired results. Formulation of Design Brief parameters and establishment of criteria including end user and accessibility issues.

Outline plan - Initial idea generation and development of creative visuals. Production scheduling and time management. Legal and financial considerations.

Initial presentation to peer group and supervisor(s). Completion and presentation of projects.

This module contains a six-week immersive learning element.

Group working skills are an essential part of the production process.
