Module Aims

Allow students to exhibit a mature approach and a personal stance as a Motion designer or Visual Effects Artist, demonstrating a high level of understanding of design, pre-production and production for various media. Encourage students to attain a level of confidence and fulfilment in relation to motion design practice to act as a catalyst for continued expansion and development.

Enable students to undertake detailed studies of, its technologies and production processes, and be responsible for their own time management.

Closely link aesthetic and technical aspects of motion design with practical and affordable methods of production and sensitive use of processes and materials.

Content Summary

Research methodologies - Identifying the wider perspective of a problem and initiating relevant research to achieve desired results. Formulation of Brief parameters and establishment of criteria. Outline plan - Initial idea generation and development of visuals. Production scheduling and time management. Initial presentation to peer group and supervisor(s).

Development of initial ideas. Identification of correct technologies, materials and processes. Selection of most appropriate solution against agreed criteria. Completion and presentation of projects. Implementation of final show exhibition.
