Module Aims
To gain an insight into the theoretical, policy and practical issues underpinning contemporary leadership, management and coordination in health, wellbeing and social care.
To develop skills, knowledge and understanding of developing and leading teams as required by a practicing or potential leader and (or) manager.
Content Summary
This module will provide an insight into the policy context for leadership, management and coordination in health and social care including an insight to Welsh Government support for integrated and whole system leadership across the public, private and third sector.
There will be consideration of relevant leadership theories, current trends and context of leadership, to enable learners to be discerning in terms of understanding differing styles of leadership in diverse health, wellbeing and social care contexts and situations.
This module will explore the challenges that leaders and managers encounter in Health, wellbeing and social care including the management of limited resources to meet significant public demand.
