Module Aims

The aim of this module is to enable the student to: Critically examine a substantive area of theory and / or practice through a process of independent learning and reflective analysis. Critically appraise and utilise various types of knowledge utilised in own practice and add to the discipline’s existing body of knowledge. Develop and enhance their practice and leadership ability within their area of professional practice.

Content Summary

An individually determined and negotiated dissertation. The suitability of each proposal to enable the meeting of the dissertation learning outcomes will be determined by an Approval Panel. Search and systematically review the literature; Sources of knowledge and beliefs in professional practice; Use of theory and theoretical frameworks; Analysis in academic writing; Synthesis of qualitative and quantitative information; Application of theory and reflection on practice; Drawing conclusions and making recommendations for practice.
