To develop an understanding of the basic organisation and architecture of computer systems, game consoles, mobile devices and network technologies.

Assemblers, Interpreters and Compilers.


Processor operation:

- architecture;

- fetch-execute cycle;

- control flow;

- addressing modes;

- instruction formats;

- system calls.

 

Platforms (Supercomputers, Mainframes, Servers, Desktop systems, Game consoles, Mobile devices):

- processors;

- motherboard architecture;

- primary storage;

- secondary storage;

- operating systems.

- physical and logical structures;

- addresses (IP v4, Subnet masks and IP v6);

- models (TCP/IP and OSI) and their layers;
