Module Aims
To develop a reflective critical appreciation of the importance of ethical and professional practice in behaviour analysis.
Content Summary
This module will explore various ethical and professional issues relating to behaviour analytic practice, research, and supervision. Students will learn to identify and address a range of ethical and professional issues relevant to behaviour analysis. Students will explore ethical and professional topics related to clinical practice, research, and supervision, as well as issues pertinent to professional development.
Students will learn via reviewing the Guidelines for Responsible Conduct set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and through exploration of case studies and legal precedents. Students also will learn how to identify potential ethical and professional dilemmas in their work with clients, colleagues, and research participants, and to address these issues in a manner consistent with the ethical standards of the field.
